OWNER OF GLASSLINED TECHNOLOGIES, JAMES LAKEMAN, INDUCTED INTO THE AUGUSTA TECHNICAL COLLEGE DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI, DEN OF DISTINCTION
Augusta Technical College honored its distinguished alumni at the Den of Distinction ceremony on Friday, November 1st in Augusta, Georgia. This event celebrates graduates who embody the college’s vision of transforming lives, organizations, and communities through technical education. This year, James Lakeman was recognized for his outstanding professional achievements and community service.
James Lakeman’s induction marks an inspiring addition to the Den of Distinction. As the founder and owner of Glasslined Technologies, Inc., Lakeman’s career spans over three decades in the glass-lined process industry. Lakeman’s company is the only 100% American-Owned glasslined company in existence today, with all other companies and competitors based outside of the US. His journey is marked by continuous improvement, innovation, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. His professional path began at Augusta Technical College, where he earned an Associate of Applied Science in Manufacturing Technology, laying the foundation for his technical and business expertise.
Lakeman’s entrepreneurial success includes founding Southern Glasslined Equipment, Inc., now known as Glasslined Technologies, inc., which flourished under his direction, showcasing his ability to lead with a focus on quality and customer-centric service. His technical prowess and leadership have not only advanced his industry but have also set a standard for innovation and excellence.
Beyond his professional milestones, James Lakeman is deeply devoted to philanthropy. His roles as former President of Georgia Safari Club International (SCI) and National Director at SCI underscore his commitment to charitable and humanitarian initiatives. Lakeman’s long-standing involvement with the Georgia SCI Wounded Vet Committee highlights his dedication to supporting veterans and giving back to the community. James currently serves as the chairman of the Georgia Chapter of Safari Club International and helps to spearhead an annual event called Cast & Blast at Lake Oconee honoring wounded veterans and providing activities and camaraderie with other wounded veterans each fall.
